Qi Men Dun Jia app for Android - the palace view

The Qi Men Dun Jia Android edition briefly describes the various formations in each palace or sector.

For example, we see the north west and south west sectors are not useful since they have certain tricky formations.

Qi Men Dun Jia app on Android..some features

Summer solstice has arrived and according to the Chai Bu/拆补 fans, they have duly switched to the Yin Dun.

Indeed if you are a programming for the Chai Bu/拆补 platform, life is such a breeze, in less than 10 lines of code and the Ju determination is done.  Life is harder for the Zhi Run/直闰 folks who have tons of considerations to worry about.

So what is the quick way out, drop Zhi Run/直闰 and support Chai Bu/拆补?!

Back to the Qi Men Dun Jia Android app, this is basic layout.  Some English and Chinese text are provided for those who hate to memorise information.

In this app, some obscure formations e.g. 亭亭百奸,天山门 are provided for completeness or specific applications.

Stay tuned for more screen captures of the Qi Men Android app.

Qi Men Dun Jia software on the Android

The best way to learn Android programming is to go and write an app.

That happens to be the best way to hate Java.

Anyway, I present one of the earliest Qi Men Dun Jia app on the world's most popular mobile platform Android.

The main advantage of Qi Men Dun Jia lies in its ability to provides some clues or hints at a moment in time while you are on the move.  Therefore it is laborious and comical to expect users to lug manuals or a laptop and ask for 10 minutes for the Windows laptop to boot up and to plot some charts.

With the advent cheap computing power, even a humble handphone has enough computing muscle to plot the Qi Men charts rapidly than you can say "Done".

Most bilingual Qi Men Dun Jia apps on the market are exclusively 直闰 or 拆补 supporters.

Few titles are fence sitters and support both methods in determining the Ju.

Many opt for Chai Bu because the programming is easier and straightforward but not many truly understand the subtle differences between Chai Bu and Zhi Run.  Usually the Chai Bu fans will cite the Mainland Masters in debunking 'Imperial' aka Zhi Run method and proposed padding the Zhi Run Ju sequence with Chai Bu 'improvements'.

Most bilingual Qi Men apps either stop at 2017 or 2020 because they hardcode the 24 Jie Qi date and times within the app.  Here is another hint, most English Internet data sources do not provide the 24 Jie Qi date/time information beyond 2020.

Qi Men Dun Jia fans who swear by 直闰 or are 拆补 purists will be able to use this app.  The debates can go on between the two camps.  Fence sitters simply select the respective 直闰 or 拆补 to plot the Qi Men Dun Jia chart.  The true solar time is a side distraction because any group of Qi Men fan swear by it.  More screen captures will be posted at a later date.

The screen capture shows the classic taboo '五不遇' that is repeatedly demonized, anything bad, just blame it on '五不遇'.

Does it live up to its name of the No 1 bogeyman in Qi Men Dun Jia?
